SHALOM!

This fall (2004) I was honored by the Tucson Jewish Arts Alliance and the Tucson Jewish Community Center with a retrospective show of 30 years of my Judaica work. Here are a few images of the work I have done for synagogues, galleries, museums, and private collectors in the US, Israel, Canada, and Mexico. In 1978, I was designated an Accredited Synagogue Artist and Lecturer in Judaic Art and Symbolism by the Union of American Hebrew Congregations. Looking back over these many productive years brings back a myriad of memories.

For me, Sacred Artwork always involves a trust that I will embody the intent of prayer and of emunah (faith) in the piece. Whether for individual or congregational use, I try to bring into each work my own act of worship and invocation, as well as an understanding of its role in the lives of those who will use it. I involve those who will use the piece in its creation whenever possible.

Please feel free to contact me for anything from stationery and prints through major design commissions: cskestler@theriver.com.

Creating Sacred Art is a Sacred Trust.
