“Students are current and future producers and consumers of culture. I like to encourage them to make innovative, responsible, collaborative and meaningful choices. I achieve this by using a non-judgmental pedagogical stage for exploring, discussing, and creating an all-encompassing definition of art.
My biggest objectives as a teacher are to help students to be able to analyze their world thoughtfully and use art to create meaning for themselves.
I am interested in the concept of a non-judgmental pedagogical stage where students feel comfortable to explore without being graded. Student-centered learning creates free-thinking and confidence, and interdisciplinary techniques promote inquiry into other subjects connecting students’ experiences to other classes. Skills learned in art class can be utilized and applied to many areas of life, and it gives students space to think for themselves.”
