RACHEL JEEHYE THOMAS
Rachel JeeHye Thomas

My name is Rachel JeeHye Thomas. I am a senior at the University of Arizona. I am finishing up my education this spring with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Media Arts, and a minor in Creative Writing. I have dabbled in interior design and theatre production design at Pima Community College. I’ve finally found my heart is in telling stories through the only medium that can totally enrapture your heart, ears, and eyes.

I worked at a movie theatre for four years and dreamed of one day having my own film projected from a 35mm machine. Favorite films of mine are The Virgin Suicides by Sofia Coppola, Amélie by Jean-Pierre Juenet, and Chungking Express by Wong Kar-Wai. I enjoy films that explore the unseen of our pasts and our futures, the whimsical thoughts of colorful characters, and love that is lost and embraced between quirky characters.

I also enjoy painting, producing films, writing, knitting, learning new languages, reading, and web design.

I love taking pictures of my feet; it reminds me of where I’ve stood--I also like looking at my argyle socks because I love the pattern. I admire artists who share a personalized and vivid rendering of how they see their world through their work.
