This current body of work has grown out of recent experimentation in using the computer as a creative painting, design, drawing, and distortion tool. These mixed media paintings are initiated from original photographs that are first digitally scanned, sandwiched together, filtered or “married” electronically. This image metamorphosis occurs through shape and color computer manipulation techniques using Photoshop software tools. The computer manipulated images are then printed on traditional art papers, then they are color and texture enhanced with traditional mixed-media in combinations of watercolor, colored pencil, pastels, oil pastel, gouache, ink or water based oil.
