Hello, welcome to my ePortfolio!
I am Amanda Blohm, born in San Francisco, and raised in the Bay Area. Where I come from has a lot to do with who I am today, and the reasons I decided to study media arts. From an early age, I was surrounded by, involved with, and completely taken with all forms of art. Throughout my life I have painted, done photography, been in countless theatre productions, danced, and have loved, more than anything, to be entertained. What I have experienced has translated into my passion for the art and business of filmmaking. With every new aspect of the industry I learn about in classes, or through my internships, my assurance that I selected the best field for me to study, and overall excitement about my future are increased.
Throughout my time spent at the University of Arizona working towards my BA in Media Arts I have gained knowledge about the history of the film and television industry, video production, current media innovations, and marketing skills. My emphasis, which is producing, has also taught me a great deal about the business of filmmaking.
This past Summer I began interning with Cox Media Production, and the Miner’s Story Project, both of which I am still interning with. These exciting internships provide me with a valuable education. They have allowed me to apply the skills I have attained, and knowledge I have learned in the classroom, to the real world.
Thank you for taking the time to learn more about me through my portfolio. I hope you enjoy what you find!
