MARIA ALBURTUS
Maria Alburtus

My art is based on my mood. It is human nature to be indecisive with emotion. Signature qualities that stand out in my work are my ability to draw with one continuous line and my performance technique. My contour drawings are primarily traditional in style and context but I like to add my own unique twist to each image. Most of my pictures are influenced by the female body or face. I strive to reflect my own feelings through my work. I usually use acrylic when I paint but my main form of expression is through performance art, drawings, and photography.
I believe that as an educator- especially an art teacher- there is a certain obligation to be not only a role model and a facilitator, but a person who opens the doors of the creative mind.
