My interest in landscapes has become increasingly difficult for me to define.
By constructing landscapes in the personal setting of my bedroom I have been able to focus on my interest in them. I have reached a partial resolution or at least a temporary understanding.
In the same way that “3 Scenes” has facilitated my reconnection to memories grounded in landscape, “9 Frames from the History of my Family” has assisted me in establishing a mythical placement in the pasts of my mom, dad, and brother.
Each body of work is a visual and physical bridge between past and present parts of my life.
After achievement of my BFA in studio art, I have explored the influence that simple houseplants have had on my understanding of the relationship between myself, my mother and her deceased mother.
